Adama Gandema

Bio

Originally from Burkina Faso, Adama Gandema was born in a family of bronze artisans.

Already at the age of 6, he found the transformation of wax into bronze magical, from modeling beeswax, molding with clay and horse dung, dewaxing, melting and casting bronze looking at his Father and Grandfather.

Each time, it was the enormous pleasure of discovery, he loved turning the wheel of the forge to fan the fire of melting bronze.

In the mid-90s, he gained confidence, and began to be sure of one thing… that his life would revolve around the profession of bronze and sculpture in general.

In 1998, he represented their workshop for the first time at the SIAO (Ouagadougou International Craft Fair).

This exhibition was a real success for him and for his family’s workshop.

Since then Adama likes to share his knowledge by organizing courses and participating in different events in Burkina, Senegal, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Rwanda.
