Elysee Mushimiyimana is a contemporary artist from Rwanda who specializes in African art, particularly Rwandan, through portraits, landscapes, and daily life scenes. He discovered his passion for art in childhood and pursued it professionally after completing his studies at the School of Art in Nyundo in 2018.

Elysee’s art reflects his surroundings and inspirations, including his mother’s love and the historical events of his community. He uses various media, such as acrylic and oil paints, watercolours, charcoal, wood pieces, and ink, to create his works. In addition to painting, Elysee also creates illustrations, short animations, commission portraits, and sculptures.

His art is characterized by visible brushstrokes, darkish colours, and reduced details. Elysee believes that his art can make the world more beautiful, express his feelings, generate income, inspiring people and change his community.
